I’m the kind of person who loves to be productive. I usually have a plan for the day, move quickly and complete my tasks. But now, there are suddenly only two things for me: do my treatments and relax. My free time here is filled with meditations and visualizations, great books and all the things I’ve been wanting to do for ages but haven’t been able to slow down enough to do.
Still, it’s not easy to let go of my little inner voice. It’s constantly telling me to complete my tasks, have a plan, and to do more and more—one thing after another, on auto-pilot. I have to keep reminding myself that this experience is about letting go and balancing myself. To stay balanced, I start my day with a yoga class and pranayama, which is detox breathing. The detox breathing is amazing. I can feel so much energy coming into my body, and all the mucous and pitta calm down. Later, I will share later some powerful detox breathing exercises for you to try.
It’s monsoon season here in India, so it is raining heavily every now and then. But somehow, it doesn’t bother people; their power of acceptance and tolerance is amazing. In Germany, or any other western country, we would constantly talk about the flooding and get annoyed. Here, they see rain as a powerful tool for renewal and growth. With each drop it is purifying the earth and giving life. This acceptance toward what you can’t change is important for us all to learn. By cultivating an inner sense of acceptance, we can improve our happiness and quality of life tremendously.
So, instead of planning out each day, I focus on going with the flow and accepting everything that comes my way. I feel how my jetlag, stress and inner voice have subsided. I feel so different inside; so much more like myself. I can feel my creativity and intuition flowing again.
I have so many great ideas and feel love all around me. This is a great feeling and a sign of a deep detox.
